About Abigail
Abigail, who likes to be called Abby, is 12 years old and a 7th grader at Horn Lake Middle School. She is a member of the Junior Beta Club and is involved with Spotlight/Honors at her school. She has also been asked to participate in the Duke TIP 7th Grade Talent Search. She is also involved in our church, Colonial Hills Baptist Church. For fun, she likes to roller skate, hang out with her friends, go to the movies, read books, and do Sudoku puzzles. When she grows up, she wants to be an Archaeologist.
Abigail was nominated for this Conference by her teacher, Ms. Linda Straw, who recognized her as one of a select group of students with the scholastic merit, maturity and strengh of character to represent Horn Lake Middle School and the state of Mississippi. With this opportunity, Abigail will be able to learn important leadership, communication, problem solving and team working skills. Attending the JRNYLC will help Abigail learn how to apply these skills in her community.
